SUBSTANCE: invention relates to side air bag design. In the condition of inflation and opening of an air bag 20, the pulled fabric 56, capable of stretching, located transversely between a partition 40 separating front and rear sections and the rear end of the air bag rear section 26, stretches, thus limiting inflation of the rear section of the air bag 26 in the longitudinal direction in respect to the vehicle. Therefore, inflation size of the rear section of the air bag 26 in the transverse direction in respect to the vehicle may increase without substantial change in the position of the partition 40 separating front and rear sections, in the longitudinal direction relative to the vehicle. In the deflated open condition of the air bag 20, the pulled fabric 56 capable of stretching is located transversely between the partition 40 separating front and rear sections, double-folded to stretch towards the rear section of the air bag 26, and to the rear end of the rear section of the air bag 26. Accordingly, dimensions of each component may be defined to prevent folds in the rear section of the air bag 26 in the deflated open condition, which provides for compact folding of the side air bag 20.

EFFECT: invention provides for improved parameters of man restriction with a side air bag.
