SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of determining mobile station capabilities. The method comprises: sending, to a base station, a request for information relating to radio access technology capabilities of a mobile station; receiving, by the base station, a first message containing information relating to radio access technology capabilities of a mobile station, the first message being a response to said request, and information contained in the first message determining that the mobile station supports at least two different types of radio access technologies; and execution by the base station while enabling control of which of said at least two different types of radio access technologies should be used by the mobile station, wherein said control comprises the base station sending to the mobile station a second message containing an entry which lists said types of radio access technologies and associated fields, established in an enable state or inhibit state in order to respectively activate or deactivate the corresponding types from said at least two different types of radio access technologies.
