FIELD: physics, computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of making a security element with a computer-readable code, counterfeit-protected paper and a data medium with said security element. A method of making the security element, having a computer-readable code, the information content of which is not discernible by the naked eye and without supporting equipment, comprises a coarse code with insignificant information content discernible by a low-resolution sensor and also, inside the coarse code, a fine code with more information content discernible by a similar high-resolution sensor, which includes a step of depositing onto a substrate a computer-readable code whose information content is not discernible by the naked eye and without supporting equipment, wherein said code is in the form of a coarse code with insignificant information content and, inside the coarse code, a fine code with more information content, wherein the coarse code is printed on the substrate by scratch-off printing and the fine code is created by laser marking the coarse code.
EFFECT: providing a security element with an improved computer-readable code which contains additional information in a fine code.
