SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a data carrier, specifically to a valuable document, for example a banknote, identification card etc., having a security feature. The security features have a printed image (22) and a laser mark (24) at least partially overlapping the printed image (22). The security feature (20) also has a laser modification area (26) at least partially overlapping the printed image which is in colour registration with the laser mark (24), on whose area which overlaps the printed image (22) the visual image of the printed image (22) is modified by laser radiation.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of making security features.
