FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method involves positioning of a tool's plank shank inside a chuck collet with its following fixation in the chuck. At positioning the tool's plank shank, four marks are provided on the chuck with the interval of 60°, one more mark is made on the tool's shank, then the tool is turned to match the mark on the tool shank with the marks on the chuck. Radial runouts of the tool are measured. Final fixation of the tool is carried out according to the mark corresponding to the minimal value of the tool's radial runout.
EFFECT: optimal installation of a tool and possibility to use the method at different machines without special accessories.
