FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: hard-metal stock is placed in a press mould, and a support plate is produced after pressing process. Presintering is carried out under the temperature of 1150°C to produce the support plate with the density less than 100%. The sintered support plate is placed in the installation for the application of coating from titanium or titanium nitride 3-5 mcm thick. A transition layer from the support plate material and cutting layer material with the proportion of 1:1 is set on the surface of the coated support plate, the size of grains in the transition layer from powder mix is by three times greater than the size of grains of the initial support plate material. Afterwards the powder of cutting layer material is placed on the surface of the transition layer and is sintered in the high pressure chamber.
