FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, in particular to the manufacture of a multilayer carbide plate. It can be used in tool production to equip blade cutting tools that work in conditions of continuous and intermittent cutting of hardened steels, cast iron, hard alloys and other hard-to-work materials. The multilayer carbide plate contains the outer upper and lower layers of tungsten carbide with a cobalt bond and at least one intermediate layer containing 35-45 wt. % of titanium carbide, the rest is titanium nickelide. A multilayer plate is produced by placing the charge of the outer lower layer and at least one of the intermediate layers in a graphite mold sequentially in layers, with subsequent layer-by-layer pressing of each of the placed layers at a pressure of 25-50 MPa. Then the charge of the outer upper layer is placed and the final pressing is carried out at a pressure of 150-200 MPa. The pressed billet is sintered at a temperature of 1400ºC for 1 hour. Alternatively, the billets of the outer lower and upper layers and at least one of the intermediate layers are pre-pressed at a pressure of 50-100 MPa and sintered at 1400ºC for 1 hour. Then the billets are assembled in a graphite mold, followed by additional sintering at a temperature of 1200ºC for 1 hour and at a pressure of 20-25 MPa.
EFFECT: invention provides increased wear resistance in conditions of cutting of hard-to-work materials.
