FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a surge arrester. The arrester contains a body, protected from touching, (10), active element, located in the body, (20), having stack of varistors made as a battery of varistors (21), and electrical lead located outside the body and connected electrically with the varistor battery (21) for connection of protected from surges, touch-protected high-voltage installation. The conductive connection between the varistor battery (21) and electrical lead (31) is made as a cable core (35) of flexible high-voltage cable (30), which has two sections (32, 33), of which one located inside the housing (10) of the first section (33) is designed unscreened, and located outside the housing (10) the second section (32) of the cable have around a core (35) and isolation (36) the conductive screen (34), with a possibility of its electrical connection from one side with the housing (10), and from the other side - with sealed touch-proof housing of high-voltage installation, the housing contains the device (70) for damping of vibrations of varistors inserted from outside into the battery (21).
EFFECT: improving operating reliability.
