FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: surge arrester has two current lead-in accessories spaced apart along axis with at least one cylindrical varistor member in-between. Current lead-in accessories are braced together to build up contact pressure imparted to mechanically stable active part of arrester. Active part is covered with molded insulating case. Each of two current lead-in accessories has depression with section mainly passed crosswise to axis from external surface of accessories past the axis. Loop creating contact pressure in vicinity of its ends is inserted past the axis into slit-shaped sections and each of loop ends occurs on one of surfaces enclosing slit-shaped sections. EFFECT: facilitated manufacture, reduced manufacturing cost. 10 cl, 3 dwg
