SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engineering fields associated with Internet technologies, and particularly to an update notification method and system. The technical result is achieved through a method which includes steps of: selecting (301) a network resource; retrieving (302) specific content of the network resource; comparing (303), twice successively, the retrieved specific content of the network resource; notifying (304) a user that the content of the network resource has been updated if the specific content has been altered.
EFFECT: enabling dynamic monitoring of a variety of network resources, including those resources which do not support RSS output, and notifying users once the corresponding network resources have been updated.
