DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR CENTRAL HEREDITARY RETINAL DYSTROPHY Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC A61B3/02

Abstract RU 2530566 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: medical history data are detected: the CHRD in the relatives, the age of the first complains for visual impairment in the examined patient; the clinical data are found: visual acuity, type of macular centre; variation of the 3D-CTAG values. The derived data are used to diagnose the CHRD disease. If the relatives are found to suffer from the Stargardt disease, the first complains for visual impairment occurred at 10-20 years of age; with the clinical data: foveolar reflex is absent in the macular region with the atrophic centres of "broken metal", "oxeye", "hammered bronze" type and choroidal atrophy; the 3D-CTAG values: one central defect covering all levels of contrast having a various area at various contrast levels; total lost area is less than 100%, the Stargardt disease is diagnosed. If the relatives are found to suffer from the Best disease, the first complains for visual impairment occurred at 5-15 years of age; with the clinical data: a roundish yolk-like localised growth in the macule; the 3D-CTAG values: one central defect covering all levels of contrast having nearly identical areas at various contrast levels, taking 1.0-2.0% of a visual hill, a zero contrast level of 4-10%, total lost area of approximately 100%, the vitelliform Best dystrophy is diagnosed. If the relatives are found to suffer from pigment retinitis, the first complains for visual impairment occurred at 30 years of age; with the clinical data: typical pigment centre of "bone bodies" in the macular regions; the 3D-CTAG data: one central defect covering all levels of contrast having a various area at various contrast levels; total lost area is less than 100%, the central pigment retinitis is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method enables accurate diagnosis by complex analysis of the objective data taking into account the peculiarities of the macular disorders.
