SUBSTANCE: multichannel gas ionisation chamber comprises a gas-filled housing which is transparent for X-rays at least at the input part thereof, said housing accommodating a flat condenser having, arranged in parallel to the input X-ray beam, a solid anode and a cathode which is divided into elements which are provided with a detecting electronic system, which form an array having at least two rows, the columns of the array being directed along the X-ray beams, wherein the first row of the array in the direction of X-ray beams detects primarily quanta of lower energies and each subsequent row detects quanta of higher energies.
EFFECT: enabling, while performing one capturing procedure, to simultaneously obtain multiple images of objects with different effective radiation energies, which simplifies the process of inspecting people and luggage.
