FIELD: measurement technology and instrumentation engineering; digital roentgen radiography.
SUBSTANCE: multidetector is exposed to ionizing radiation through objects incorporating gas-filled ionization detector provided with plurality of alternating anodes and cathodes, as well as substrate disposed opposite high-voltage wafer carrying semiconductor detector. Each detector is acted upon by electric fields when incident ionizing radiation passes through object with the result that respective signals are generated and compared to obtain contrast signal of object. These signals are used to shape image, to control radiation, and to serve other purposes. Characteristics and variables of incident radiation, as well as electric field strength can be synthesized for particular object.
EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities due to adaptive configuration of adjacent detectors.
