SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image capturing and processing devices. The result is achieved due to that an image captured by a camera is processed to identify within the image parts corresponding to rectangular objects, such as paper sheets, business cards, boards, screens etc. One or more of said parts can be selected for scanning automatically based on an estimate scheme and/or automatically through user input. One or more scanned documents are created from the selected parts by correcting distortions of the selected parts to remove perspective effects (e.g., converting the parts into rectangles) and applying various enhancements to improve image quality.
EFFECT: broader technical capabilities of image capturing and processing devices.
