FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is used in electrical engineering. According to the method when surge of short-circuiting current occurs monitoring pulses are sent to all lines and emergency mode parameters are defined by calculation of a number of reflection points and distances to each point, upon disappearance of short-circuiting current the line parameters are defined in the similar way and compared with the preset emergency mode parameters and normal mode parameters defined at normal operation of the line, and when at the beginning of comparison the parameters received upon disappearance of short-circuiting current are the same as normal mode parameters then the signal will be sent to automatic reclosure of the main breaker and when the above parameters are the same as emergency mode parameters then comparison and definition of these parameters will be continued and when later, at any moment before delay time for automatic reclosure of the main breaker is over the calculated parameters are the same as normal mode parameters, then the signal will be sent for reclosure and when surge of operating current is recorded thereafter then the conclusion is made about successful automatic reclosure of the main breaker in the line with reduction of delay time for its reclosure.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities.
