FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to stop valves and is designed to shut off and control the various medium flows. The ball valve contains the body with input and output branch pipes, ball hollow plug with the shaped central through passage hole, pressed to ball plug input and output seats installed respectively at output and input sections of input and output branch pipes, and spindle, conjugate with the ball plug, where the handle is fixed. The projection of through passage hole to the plain located perpendicularly to the side walls of the through passage hole, has mushroom shape. "Hat" of this mushroom shape is made with the rounded edges bent towards "leg" and is formed by a convex circular arc. The rounded edges formed by an circular arc, conjugate with "leg" concaved inside "hat" of the curve smoothly conjugate with "leg", placed horizontally, smoothly constricted from "hat" to "leg" base, made in the middle part with constant width. The "leg" base is made wider than a middle part of "leg" and is formed by a convex circular arc with rounded along the convex circular arc by edges smoothly conjugate concave circular arcs with the middle part of "leg". The through passage hole is made symmetrically with reference to its direct-axis.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at minimising of the factors of cavitation formation during control of flow through the ball valve, improvement of smoothness and precision of flow control and minimising of noise level during throttling of the flow through ball hollow plug.
