FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus for separating magnetised particles from a suspension which is a stream of substances containing metal and non-metal components and having a given mass flow includes a cylindrically symmetrical magnetic separator in which there is at least one variable-width separation gap for separating streams of substances. A partially tubular separation membrane is provided for controlling the separation gap. At least one separation membrane is adapted for rearrangement in a circular direction of the cylindrically symmetrical magnetic separator. Electronic adjustment means are provided to control the width of the gap of the separator, said means receiving as the controlled value a signal which can be obtained from the amount of magnetite contained in parts of the stream of substances or in a stream of substances, on magnetisability thereof with respect to volume.
EFFECT: high efficiency of separation.
