METHOD FOR CONTINUOUS MAGNETIC SEPARATION AND/OR BENEFICIATION OF ORE Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC B03C1/15

Abstract RU 2539474 C2

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the continuous separation and/or beneficiation of ore. A method for the magnetic separation of metal-containing ore-bearing mine rock involves the obtainment of pulp from water and crushed mine rock, performance of a hydrofobisation reaction of at least one precious material in the pulp and magnetisable material in the form of particles, where magnetite (Fe3O4) is used as the latter. Agglomeration between hydrophobisated magnetisable material in the form of particles and the hydrophobisated precious material with the formation of magnetisable agglomerates in the pulp and their magnetic separation from the pulp is executed. Destruction of the agglomerates with water-nonsoluble nonpolar liquid into initial component parts. At the second stage of magnetic separation, the magnetisable material is separated from the precious ore material and the latter is dehydrated. The magnetisable material in the form of particles, nonpolar liquid and process medium is again processed. With that, the above said process water is used to be added to the final product to make it ready for transportation, and when necessary, to eliminate the influence of inconsiderable residues of diesel fuel in the final product. When the hydrophobisated magnetisable material is obtained in the form of particles in the form of a liquid suspension, to the flow of the processed secondary magnetisable material in the form of particles there additionally introduced is fresh hydrophobisated magnetite for the recovery of losses of the magnetisable material in a common process, and the required additional chemicals are added in a soluble form only to this flow.

EFFECT: invention allows improving the quality of the separated concentrate at the elimination of effect of the process water on the environment.
