SUBSTANCE: scope of application: for non-destructive testing of items. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that an ultrasonic separate-and-combined wide-coverage converter includes prismatic waveguides, a radiating piezo-plate installed on the first prism and receiving piezo-plates installed on the second prism in a row in one plane, which are connected to each other, and between the radiating and the receiving piezo-plates there arranged is an electroacoustic screen; with that, the converter is equipped with the second electroacoustic screen and the third prismatic waveguide, on which an arrangement is made for additional receiving piezo-plates; besides, the third prism is located on the opposite side relative to the first prism symmetrically to the second prism; the receiving piezo-plates of prisms are offset relative to each other by the half of their length so that joints of the piezo-plates of the second prism are located opposite the centre of plates installed on the third prism, and the second electroacoustic screen is arranged between the first and the second prisms.

EFFECT: improving efficiency and quality of testing owing to reducing non-uniformity of an amplitude characteristic as to width of a converter.
