FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Heat treatment for billets after cold plastic deformation, mainly of steels, at continuous casting machines, involves austenitising at Ac3+(100-150°C), cutting, cooling at the rate of over 20°C/min to 680-700°C, diffusion conversion of overcooled austenite at various temperatures in 680-660-640-600°C pattern with curing at every temperature for 60-80 minutes with termination of cooling in air.
EFFECT: minimised hardness stable "ferrite + granular perlite" structure for steel cold deformation.
