FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to road transport, in particular to systems and methods for verification of braking ability of one or more vehicle braking elements. The method consists in braking element actuation in automatic mode by means of applying braking force to it, applying torque of specified value established for decision-making, detection of vehicle and/or interacting with ground surface elements motion when torque of specified value established for decision-making is acting. Then decision about braking ability of vehicle braking element is made. The system contains control unit to actuate braking element by means of applying braking force to it, and detector. The detector provides detection of vehicle and/or interacting with ground surface elements motion when rotating element is affected by torque of specified value established for decision-making produced by power source which torque characterizes braking ability of braking element under conditions of specified braking force action. Control unit is made capable to be controlled by power source in automatic mode to obtain torque of specified value established for decision-making by means of increasing torque produced by power source.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of vehicle braking elements braking ability verification.
