FIELD: mechanical engineering; road vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to diagnosing brake systems of automobiles. Proposed device has lever is made for rigid fastening on wheel to be checked along plane of its rotation, free part of said lever in operating position being in power interaction with movable support located below. Vehicle brake systems are checked by applying test torque to vehicle wheel. Test torque is formed by weight of vehicle acting onto wheel and reaction of support taking up said weight through measuring lever. Prior to checking, one end of lever is rigidly secured on said wheel along plane of its rotation, and free part of lever is arranged on support which is displaced from axis of wheel rotation through preset distance. Test torque is applied to wheel lifted clear of the ground through normal height, wheel being in brake applied state.
EFFECT: provision of reliable on-line diagnostic information, enlarged sphere of use of instrument diagnostic of vehicle brake systems.
