BIOPSY GUIDE SYSTEM WITH ULTRASONIC SENSOR, AND METHOD FOR USING IT Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC A61B8/08

Abstract RU 2533978 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to biopsy guide systems. A multiple-position biopsy guide system comprises a two-dimensional matrix ultrasonic sensor, elements of which are arranged towards an elevation and in an azimuth direction, and a biopsy needle guide for directing the same along a path of biopsy. The guide is configured to perform a controlled guide of the biopsy needle along the two paths of biopsy extending towards the elevation and in the azimuth direction, and also in the varied position in relation to the two-dimensional matrix ultrasonic sensor. The guide position has the first side of the two-dimensional matrix ultrasonic sensor, whereon the biopsy needle is aligned with an azimuth plane of the sensor image, the second side of the two-dimensional matrix ultrasonic sensor, which is orthogonal to the first side and whereon the biopsy needle is aligned with an elevation plane of the sensor image, and the third position, wherein the biopsy is aligned with a diagonal plane of the sensor image. A method for controlling the biopsy needle direction with the use of the multiple-position guide system involves the stages of specifying the biopsy needle guide for the two-dimensional matrix ultrasonic sensor, positioning the guide so that a path of biopsy is aligned with the selected one of the azimuth plane and the elevation plane, forming the ultrasonic image in the image plane aligned with the path of biopsy respective to the certain position of the biopsy needle guide.

EFFECT: using the invention enables controlling the biopsy procedure for various positions and directions of the guided biopsy needle.
