FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: patient is exposed to progressive commands. First, with the patient's eyelids closed and his/her hands on his/her eyes the patient's attention is focused on nonvisual sensations - heat, dimension and density, and then on visual sensations - darkness in the eyes closed. Thereafter, a command to open the eyes is given, and the patient's sight is focused on a screen with an image. The patient touches the screen, shows, gives a verbal description, and accompanies his/her description with an index finger motion along the screen. That is followed by a relaxing exposure on the patient by the sequential transfer of the patient's attention from the nonvisual sensations of heat, dimension and density to the visual sensations from a dark background to complete darkness. The trainings are given as courses. Each course precedes and follows a visual acuity diagnosis that results in forming the image: depending on the initial visual acuity. The course consists of 5-10 trainings with the images on the screen made more difficult training-to-training.
EFFECT: method enables providing higher visual acuity when using drug-free instruments that is ensured by performing complex trainings, which are made more difficult depending on the visual acuity variation during rehabilitation.
