FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a catalyst containing at least one platinum group metal M, tin, a phosphorous promoter, a halogen-containing compound, a porous substrate and at least one promoter X1, selected from a group consisting of gallium and indium. The method includes the following steps: a) adding the promoter or promoters X1 and phosphorus when moulding a substrate, b) adding tin during step (a), wherein steps (a) and (b) can be consecutive or simultaneous, c) drying the product obtained at the output from step (b), d) calcining the product obtained at step (c) at 350-650°C, e) depositing at least one platinum group metal M, f) drying in a stream of a neutral gas or a stream of an oxygen-containing gas, at moderate temperature not higher than 150°C, g) calcining the product obtained at step (f) at 350-650°C, h) adding a halogenated compound at any of steps (a) to (g) The invention also relates to use of the catalyst obtained using said method in catalytic reforming reactions or for producing aromatic compounds.
EFFECT: catalysts exhibit improved selectivity and stability.
