FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: interventional system includes an imaging device providing a live image of an object, a needle device which can enter the object and has a position in the object visible on the live image, and a processing device capable of obtaining a pre-recorded image of the object from a database. The needle device includes a sensor for providing local data corresponding to properties of tissue near the sensor, and the processing device is capable of overlaying the pre-recorded image and the live image on each other, wherein the local data from the sensor are used to recalibrate overlaying based on the pre-recorded image, the position of the needle device on the live image and local data from the sensor. A computer-readable medium of the system stores a computer program which instructs the processing device to carry out a method of overlaying the pre-recorded image and the live image of the object.
EFFECT: use of the invention improves accuracy of overlaying images.
