FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: cutting unit of an agricultural machine comprises knife blades, representing a knife strip which is attached to segments, repairable clamps with holes for fastening to the front bar of the frame of the agricultural machine, and plates of friction, adjusting plates and threaded connections with friction bushings. The repairable clamps in a horizontal plane are pairwise interconnected by a jumper, which is integral with the repairable clamps, and at the front side protrude beyond the front face of the knife strip for a distance of not less than 1 mm. The outer surface of the repairable clamps at their place of attachment to the front bar of the machine is made parallel to the horizontal plane, and the holes for attaching them are made oval. The friction bushings are arranged with faces on lateral outer surfaces, and the friction plates of the clamps are mounted with the ability to create a support on them, respectively, from the rear and the outer surfaces of the knife strips.

EFFECT: cutting system of the agricultural machine enables to expand its technological application, to reduce metal consumption, and to improve the quality of cutting stems of plants; to reduce the frictional force acting on the knife blade.
