FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises placing a sample in a vessel in parts with the increase in its mass. And prior to cutting the aerial part of grass, contours of the plot are marked at the place of sampling of herbal plants. While cutting, the grass sample parts are placed in the vessel in the form of a paper bag. After cutting the grass from all the plot the paper bag with the sample of the grass is immediately weighed on the scales near the plot, and after the first weighing the sample of the grass in the paper bag is placed for natural drying in a dry and windless place. Then, while drying, the sample of the grass with the paper bag is repeatedly weighed, and based on the results of weighing without the weight of the paper bag the time of natural drying is determined from the moment of sampling of the herbal plants. The quality of grass cover is determined by the biological time of achievement of the grass sample of the first and subsequent minimum of the grass sample weight. At that while cutting, visual sorting is performed, by the plants species external signs. Each type of the herbal plant is placed in a separate vessel in the form of a paper bag with an increase in weight of each element of the sample. Then the paper bags with the plant species are weighed separately on portable scales, and the total weight of the sample is calculated as the sum of the masses for the certain types of the cut plants. And the sample parts are subjected to natural drying based on separate types of herbal plants, and based on the achieved constant weight values the drying period is determined for each sample part, and based on the duration of the moisture retention in the plant in the sample part the environmental resistance of the plant species on the test plot and on the plot of meadows is evaluated, and the forage quality of hay and original grass for individual species and in general for the sample.

EFFECT: method enables to improve the accuracy of measurements of weight of each element of the sample of plants and functional capabilities of comparison of the samples of grass on various accounting plots.
