FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: before cutting of above-ground parts of grass the contours of sample area or discount area are marked with size of 1.0×1.0 or 0.5×0.5 m on site of sampling action of herbaceous plants. While cutting the herbs samples are placed in a vessel in the form of a paper bag. After cutting herbs across the whole area a paper bag with samples of herbs is weighed immediately on the scales near the ground. After the first weighing a sample of herbs in a paper bag is placed for natural drying at a dry and windless place. Then as the herbs sample dries out it is repeatedly weighed with a paper bag. According to the results of weighting without regard to the mass of a paper bag time periods of natural drying since the sampling herbaceous plants are set. The quality of herbage is judged by biological time of herbs samples reaching the first and subsequent least values of mass of herbs samples.

EFFECT: improving accuracy of measurement of herbs sample mass in dynamics of natural drying and drying time to a moisture content of air-dry state, increasing the functionality of comparing of herbs sample on discount areas on indicators of loss of moisture in each sample of cut herbs.
