FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of landscape science and forestry. The method comprises the allocation of a meadow plot with test grass cover visually on the map or on-site within a water protection zone , then on this plot downstream the watercourse groups of test plots are marked, recording the distance between the centres of the test plots along and across the river, and after cutting samples of grass are tested. The meadow plot with the test grass cover is isolated on a flood-free area with the coastal dirt road parallel to the coast. And on the other side of the meadow the forest edge is located. Then, on the selected part of the meadow mosaic pieces are isolated as per the scale of quality of grass cover. And on each mosaic part at least one test plot is marked with the dimensions of 2.00×2.00 m. After that section lines of observations are marked on the test plots perpendicular to the dirt road. Prior to the test immediately after cutting the sample is weighed on portable scales near the test plot. After cutting the test plot centre is marked, then the distances between the centres of the test plots with cut grass are measured. Also the distances from the edge of the dirt road, which is located towards the forest, to the centres of the test plots with cut grass are measured on the section lines of measurements. After that the distances from the forest edge to the centres of these test plots are calculated. All measured data are entered in the log, which, together with the calculated data is used to assess the yield of meadow grass by wet weight, depending on the influence of the distances from the edge of the road and from the forest edge to the centres of the test plots with cut grass.
EFFECT: method enables to improve the accuracy of measurements of the properties of the coastal meadow grass, located between the coastal dirt road and the forest edge, and to increase the functional capabilities in detection of the influence pattern of the forest edge and the coastal dirt road on the yield of meadow grass.
