FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: method for determining strength of a layer of road pavement of a non-stiff type on automobile roads provides for measurement of thickness of a layer of road pavement at two different points, determination of total elasticity moduli at these points, for examples by means of a deflection meter. Then, considering a known diameter of an equivalent circle of trace of a car wheel, strength of material of the road pavement layer is determined by the following formula: E " в " = 3 , 3 D ( E t o t ' E t o t " ) h 1 2 0 , 1 D + h 1 h 2 2 0 , 1 D + h 2 , where: E"в" - elasticity modulus of road pavement material, MPa; D - diameter of equivalent circle of a car wheel, m; E t o t ' - total elasticity modulus at one point of road pavement, MPa; E t o t ' ' - total elasticity modulus at another point of road pavement, MPa; h1 - thickness of layer of road pavement at measurement point E t o t ' , m; h2 - thickness of layer of road pavement at measurement point E t o t ' ' , m.

EFFECT: obtained strength results of a layer of road pavement allow solving issues of assessment of strength of road pavement, taking decisions on quality handling and repair, as well as possibilities of reconstruction of road pavement.
