SUBSTANCE: invention relates to process schemes for clarification of water at temperature not lower than 4°C and concentration of suspended substances of not less than 25 g/m3, and can be used to control water purification processes at facilities operating on the "mixer-clarifier with suspended sediment-high capacity filter" scheme. The method includes, before feeding water into a mixer during water clarification, real-time express measurement of chromaticity, turbidity, alkalinity and electrophoretic velocity of suspended particles from top to bottom in the starting water and at the outlet of the mixer; before feeding the water into a clarifier with suspended sediment, controlling water purification processes in clarifier passages based on sedimentation express monitoring in real time of the hydraulic size of suspended particles, the optimum value of which is provided by controlling the rate of removal of water with the sediment from the clarifier; accumulation of the sediment and periodic removal thereof from the sediment compressor is carried out based on sedimentation express monitoring of the incoming amount of suspended substance, and switching from filtration mode to washing mode and controlling the time and intensity of washing is carried out based on comparing results of sedimentation express analysis of the amount of suspended substance entering the filters and at the outlet of the filters.

EFFECT: providing thorough real-time control of all water purification processes, high reliability of water purification, high efficiency of facilities, wider range of conditions of use and low operational costs.
