FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: power transformer comprises an active part, namely the magnet core and windings, isolated from the bottom and placed to a tank. One end of each additional magnet core is coupled electrically to the active part metal structure in a certain zone while the other end is outputted to the outer surface of the grounded tank through a bushing insulator and connected to it. At the magnet core section outside the tank there are sensors of conduction current and partial discharge or either conduction current sensors or partial discharge sensors. State of units in the transformer active part may be assessed against deviation of conduction current values and apparent charge values of partial discharges from the basic values.
EFFECT: monitoring of the units state in the transformer active zone on selective basis, by certain zones.
