FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrumentation, particularly, to determination of required metal and alloy cutting force. Standard experimental hardening curve is reconstructed to coordinates "voltage (σ) - true relative deformation (ε)". Maximum deformation εp predefines maximum possible chip shrinkage factor K as lnK=εp. Note that calculation of maximum possible cutting force is calculated by equation P=σp t s K/sinθ. Then, trial cutting is performed to measure parameters for calculation of actual chip shrinkage factor K. The latter is used to determine angle θ and to define the cutting actual force by initial equation.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of calculation and efficiency, lower implementation costs.
