FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of obtaining high-octane hydrocarbon mixtures, which contain dimmers of normal butylenes, from hydrocarbon mixtures, containing normal butylenes, at higher temperature and pressure, providing process occurring in liquid phase, in presence of fine-grained thermally stable sulfocationite in two stages with further rectification of hydrocarbons from reaction mixture that have not reacted from reaction products. Initial hydrocarbon mixture, containing from 2 to 10 wt % of isobutylene is used, and at the first stage at temperature from 70°C to 100°C mainly realised are reactions of indirect alkylation of normal butylenes with isobutylene with total conversion of butylenes not less than 25%, including those with isobutylene conversion not less than 99%, and at the second stage at temperatures from 90°C to 120°C reaction of dimerisation of remaining normal butylenes is realised.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase process efficiency due to higher conversion and selectivity, reduce multiplicity of rectification of reaction products from hydrocarbons that have not reacted, and reduce volume of reactors and quantity of catalyst loaded into them.
