FIELD: petrochemical processes. SUBSTANCE: propene from propene-containing hydrocarbon mixture is subjected to liquid-phase chemical interaction with water in presence of acid porous cationite catalyst and optionally non-tertiary C1-C5-alcohols in one or several consecutive reaction zones. In reaction zone(s), concentration of hydrocarbon solvent chiefly containing alkanes and/or non-tertiary alkenes with boiling limits from -12 to +37o is maintained within a range of 25 to 85 wt %, temperature between 100 and 150o, and content of water in catalyst between 15 and 40%. Discharged reaction mixture is separated by rectification and at least part of hydrocarbon solvent is recycled into reaction zone(s). EFFECT: increased assortment of starting materials. 10 cl, 2 dwg, 6 ex
