FIELD: motors and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: rocket propulsion system contains motors of the previous and the next stage, connected through the inter-stage compartment formed by the motor joint units. The bottom of the motor of the previous stage is designed with a profile, equidistant to the profile of the next stage nozzle, and is located in it with the gap excluding their contact during operation. The nozzle of the motor of the next stage is designed with expansion, therefore the nozzle section has a diameter less than inner diameter of inter-stage compartment by the value of the gap between them, excluding their contact during operation.
EFFECT: invention allows to minimise overall dimensions of the propulsion system and to improve its power characteristics.
