FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: plain thrust bearing comprises coaxially installed: a race (1), a cage (2) and a thrust element in the form of a thrust block (3). The cage (2) is fitted with grooves where resilient elements (8) are installed. The carrying race (1) is connected to the cage (2) and is fitted with grooves (6) with each of the latter being turned to the respective resilient element (8) and being blocked by it. The thrust block (3) is installed inside the cage (2) and is able of axial displacement in respect to the carrying race (1). One thrust block (3) side is equipped by ridges thrusting against the resilient elements (8) and the other side is equipped by fixed pads intended for contact with a thrust collar (4) of a shaft (14). The carrying race (1) has radial holes (15) communicated with the cavity between the carrying race (1) and the thrust block (3).
EFFECT: improved damping properties of a bearing, reduced impact of dynamic loads on the bearing, improved manufacturability, serviceability, reliability and durability of the plain thrust bearing when operated under abrupt transient operation modes of compressor machines, including centrifugal compressor surging.
