FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of obtaining fluoride glass includes preparation of charge from mixture of metal fluorides, its melting in dry inert atmosphere, homogenisation of melt and following cooling. In the process of charge preparation for melting mixture of initial fluorides in given ratio are milled in 10-30% solution of bromine trifluoride in fluorodichlorobromomethane, after with the latter is distilled off. Solution of bromine trifluoride in fluorodichlorobromomethane, obtained by distillation, is regenerated and re-used.
EFFECT: invention provides possibility of obtaining glass with complete absence of OH groups, quality of obtained glass makes it possible to apply it as optic material, intended for work in composition of IR-range devices, possibility of multiple repeated application of bromine trifluoride is provided due to catching bromine trifluoride wastes and regeneration of target component from them.
