FIELD: production of fluoride glass used for infra-red fiber optics, resonator and auxiliary optics and continuous chemical lasers.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes melting glass from fluorides of metals at highest degree of oxidation. Used as one of fluorides is its complex compound with bromine or iodine fluoride. Charge is molded at temperature of decomposition of complex compound and pressure of 1-3 t/cm2; then charge is heated to temperature not above 500°C and gaseous products are evacuated; glass is molten from this charge.
EFFECT: enhanced transparency of fluoride glass of optic property.
