FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: this invention relates to composition of an elastomer dental floss. A composition of an elastomer dental floss is described, including: a) a molten mix of an elastomer block-copolymer and propylene homopolymer, where the elastomer block-copolymer contains a block-copolymer of styrene-ethylene/butylene-styrene; and b) a plasticiser representing naphthenic mineral oil, and c) antioxidant/stabiliser, where the elastomer block-copolymer represents 50-99 wt % of the mixture, propylene homopolymer represents from 1% to 50 wt % of the mix, the dental floss may be extended up to 1500% of its initial length without a break, and dental loss has peak rupture strength in the rupture point, for a sample with width of 2 mm, as measured at Instron 4464 with grips of 2.76×105 Pa (40 pound/sq. inch in the sensor), less than 20 N/sq. m.
EFFECT: production of a dental floss composition providing for improved size at maximum extension before rupture, improved peak rupture strength, improved extension in dental floss rupture.
