SUBSTANCE: patient's blood serum is examined to measure transforming growth factor β1 (TGF β1) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) simultaneously. The detected TGF β1 is less than 10,000 pcg/ml, and VEGF is more than 500 pg/ml, a risk of developing retinal detachment is predicted.

EFFECT: method is easy to implement and enables selecting the adequate therapeutic approach.
