FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: clinical course of acute and chronic lymphoblastic leukaemia is predicted by isolating lymphocytes; a surface potential and an elasticity modulus of at least 15 cells from each sample are measured on an atomic-force microscope, and a mitogen-induced lymphocyte migration inhibitory factor as compared to spontaneous (mitogen-free) migration. If the cell surface potential grows by -30.7±0.7 to -28.8±2.1 mV; the elasticity modulus decreases by 1.9±0.2 to 2.8±0.1 µPa, and if the lymphocyte migration inhibitory factor falls within the range of 15 to 95%, the unfavourable clinical outcome of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia is predicted. If the cell surface potential grows by -9.5±0.7 to -6.7±0.2 mV; the elasticity modulus grows by 7.8±0.5 to 9.6±0.3 µPa, and if the lymphocyte migration inhibitory factor falls within the range of 38-65%, the unfavourable clinical outcome of chronic lymphoblastic leukaemia is predicted.
EFFECT: using the method enables predicting the clinical course of acute and chronic lymphoblastic leukaemia, developing the recurrences accompanying the stage of remission, as well as correcting the long-term therapy in the patients suffering chronic lymphoblastic leukaemia.
