FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: string screen contains casing with installed screening sectors separated by insertion out of metal plates, and made in form of tensioned strings, distance between them in the loading and unloading parts is different. Top part of the screen is made out of metal plates and is linked with feed device. The screen is made in form of a cone divided vertically, its angle α exceeds angle of natural slope of the screened material. Distance between strings in top part of each sector corresponds to smallest size of particles of the screened material, and in bottom part to largest size of specified class of the screened material with distance increasing in each next lower sector. Internal part of each sector is equipped with the inclined chute with angle β exceeding angle of natural slope of the screened material made of metal plates and directed towards open space of the divided cone. Throat of each chute in linked in bottom part with the receiving hopper and conveyor of screened material.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of screening, decreasing of device dimensions.
