FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sieving and separation of loose materials by coarseness, mainly rock mass. String screen comprises a hopper-feeder, sifting surfaces installed one above the other in multi-tier manner, each tier of which is coupled with receiving bins and equipped with strings, with freely rotating tapers equipped with blades. Screening surfaces are made stepped with arrangement of strings in staggered order, fixed on cross-bars of steps, installed, in turn, on sidewalls of screen. Free-rotating tilts are installed in upper horizontal cross-bars of sieving stages of each tier, except for uppermost stages, and are identical on the whole tier, but decrease relative to superposed ones. On lower horizontal cross bars of each tier, except for the lowest ones, casing is installed above the tilts with direction towards sieving surface, which prevents ingress of sorted pieces of rock mass onto ascending blades of rotating tilters.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of separation of rock mass of different composition into classes by size.
