SUBSTANCE: method for biological advanced waste treatment refers to environmental protection, is applicable for municipal waste cleaning from nitrogen and phosphorus salts, and can be used at household waste water treatment plants, as well as water treatment stations for process and household needs. According to the method, the waste water is supplied to an advanced waste treatment system that provides growing the algae Spirulina platensis in pools. Organising the advanced treatment system requires calculating the amount of biomass, which can be produced of one litre of waste water to reduce the level of nitrates to the maximum permissible concentration (MPC) by formula: $$b{\text{'}}_N=\frac{c_N-c_{MPC}}{Y_N}.$$ The above value is taken into consideration to calculate an area of a propagator mirror to produce the pre-set amount of the algal biomass per a day in year-round culture by formula: $$S=\frac{B_N^{\text{'}\text{'}}\cdot k}{P_m}.$$

EFFECT: higher effectiveness of the system by removing the biogenic elements; method meets the requirements of practical relevance; it is simple, universal and can be applicable for various systems using the reclamative properties of phototrophs.
