FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: cooling method of circulating water in a cooling water pond involves discharge of water to the cooling water pond, its cooling due to natural processes and water intake from the top layer of the cooling water pond. When water is being cooled in the cooling water pond, stratification occurs, at which warm water turns out to be in a surface layer, and cold water in a bottom layer of the cooling water pond. The water intake zone is protected from the rest volume of the cooling water pond with a baffle, the upper edge of which is located above water level of the cooling water pond, and the lower edge is located at its bottom, thus forming a clearance between the baffle and the bottom, through which cold water of the bottom layer enters the water intake zone at water intake from it. Water intake temperature is controlled by a value of clearance between the baffle and the bottom of the cooling water pond.
EFFECT: invention allows decreasing temperature of water taken from a cooling water pond during station operation in summer.
