FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: core samples are selected from wells; samples of insoluble organic matter (IOM) are identified in core samples, samples examination by gamma-ray log and optical microscopy. Core-derived uranium gamma activity is defined in selected core samples. Then values of r indicator are defined for ratio of values of uranium gamma activity logging and core-derived uranium gamma activity; against these values identification of deposit type is carried out for deposits differentiated by content of organic carbon content (OCC) for domanicoids, domanikites and shale, for the purpose of further examination core samples are taken from intervals with the biggest values of gamma activity logging, insoluble organic matter (IOM) is extracted from the selected samples and uranium content is identified in it, correlation factor ki is calculated between IOM radioactivity and value of uranium gamma activity logging, it is compared with k values for the respective type of deposits and perspective hydrocarbon kitchen is identified; then for the selected IOM samples maturity of organic matter is assessed at katagenesis gradation level by microscopy and infrared spectroscopy and against maturity data for organic matter perspective hydrocarbon kitchens are identified.
EFFECT: improved reliability and rapidness for identification of hydrocarbon kitchens in domanicoid and shale-bearing deposits.
