METHOD OF FACE RECONSTRUCTION BY SKULL FOR MONGOLOID GROUPS Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61B5/117

Abstract RU 2541821 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of anthropology, as well as to forensic medicine, and is intended for carrying out graphical and sculptural reconstruction of faces of ancient people from different territories and identification of personality by bone remains, in particular by skull. By skull for mongoloid groups determined are sex, age, head shape and morphologic characteristics of face by algorithm of skull correspondence by table 1. Then, by structural elements of skull calculated are characteristics, which do not have direct analogues on skull: physiognomic face height (PFH), ear height (EH), nose width (NW), width between nasolabial folds (WBNLF), filter width (FW), mouth width (MW) by equations. PFH=90.515+0.748×(MFH+6 mm) - males; PFH=86.357+0.746×(MFH+6 mm) - females; EH=55.488+0.073×(MFH+6 mm) - males; EH=45.650+0.110×(MFH+6 mm) - females; where MFH is morphological face height. NW=12.115+0.584×WBF - males; NW=13.780+0.510×WBF - females; WBN-LF=26.944+0.763×WBF - males; WBN-LF=25.657+0.685×WBF - females; FW=7.295+0.318×WBF - males; FW=7.792+0.202×WBF - females; where WBF is width between fang points. MW=25.613+0.672×WBSP - males; MW=22.915+0.541×WBSP - females; where WBSP is width of dental arch at the level of second premolars. Graphic and/or sculptural reconstruction of face is formed by measured and calculated parameters.

EFFECT: method makes it possible, due to calculation of characteristics, which do not have direct analogues on skull, by equations of regression, including dependencies, increase degree of reliability of personality identification in verbal portrait with graphic and/or sculptural method of reconstructing faces of people, belonging to mongoloid anthropological type.
