FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dentistry and maxillofacial surgery, can be used for diagnosing asymmetric jaw deformation, planning orthodontic and combined treatment of the patients with gnatic forms of dento-facial anomalies. It involves skull computed tomography (CT), intraoral dentition scanning, face 3D-scanning. Natural head position (NHP) of the patient is determined. Conducted examination methods are adapted to the true position of the patient’s head in space according to the NHP protocol, and the further cephalometric analysis is performed taking into account the certain true position. Paired and unpaired cephalometric points are marked on the skull model and 3D face model. Distance from a median sagittal plane to the unpaired points is measured. Deviation of said unpaired points from a median sagittal plane is measured. That is followed by measuring a distance from said paired points to a median sagittal plane, a true horizon and a coronal plane. Difference of distances from the points of the counterlateral sides to the above planes is calculated. Following cephalometric parameters are measured: Co-Go left, right – height of ramus of mandible on right and left; Go-Me left, right – length of the lower jaw on the right and on the left. Difference of parameters is calculated.
EFFECT: method allows to minimize the measurement error and the facial and facial symmetry assessment error, to reduce the influence of technical external factors on the cephalometric analysis result, to take into account the patient's head anatomical features, and also to increase the analysis reproducibility by carrying out the cephalometric analysis using the natural position of the head.
